My Review

Missing is a phenomenal standalone thriller written by Charlie Gallagher, intense from the very first page, an abduction of a woman and child, the suicidal man who has questions that need answers and central to it all is Sergeant Shaun Carter a police negotiator.

What can this man possibly want from Carter and why does he need answers to the questions, what has the abduction got do with Carter, are there consequences to finding out and who is going to suffer from Carters difficult choices. Carter is a strong character with choices to make, would you go to the same lengths to save your loved ones.

Carter needs help, he turns to George Elms a colleague who has himself crossed the line and doesn’t stand in good stead with his superiors but knows he can access information that Carter can’t obtain. The more people who become involved the harder it is for Carter to stay off the road of destruction.

Charlie you certainly threw a spanner in the works with the plotline. I fairly enjoyed the theme which run throughout the book. There was one hiccup for me personally that by the halfway point I knew what was going on but not the who, not that it was a bad thing, but I would have preferred the reveal to be slightly later in the book. Even though I knew part of it I didn’t know it all which made it more intriguing and exciting, definitely wouldn’t put me off recommending the book or reading more of Charlie’s books.

Think the best way to sum up my experience of reading Missing is WoW, the characters, the plotline and the style of writing blew me away, I hope there will be more to come from Charlie as his books aren’t to be missed. So hurry along and grab a copy you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you Joffe Books, Charlie Gallagher and Jill for the chance to read and review Missing and being part of the blog tour, in exchange for an honest review.
